D25 EQUITY, ANTI-RACISM, AND ANTI-OPPRESSION COMMITTEE
The D25 Equity, Anti-Racism, and Anti-Oppression (EARAO) Committee is a District Committee that welcomes healthy discussion and (Re)Learning in order to create an Equity footprint in the OSSTF Ottawa environment.
At its core, the EARAO Committee is made up of Equity, Anti-Racism, and Anti-Oppression Officers (EARAOs) elected at eachBargaining Unit’s AGM. The EARAOs for this year are:

The Committee also welcomes input from all D25 members. This year the committee has had members from nearly every D25 Bargaining Unit.
The Committee provides opportunities for members to learn and unlearn through experiential and Professional Development opportunities. In the past, we have provided PD on Anti-Black Racism, and on other Equity learning through the Equity Literacy Institute (Paul Gorski). We regularly collaborate with the Elementary Teachers Federation to create opportunities for Equity-Minded members to come together. On June 6 2026 we will have a full day of Equity learning and Unlearning. There will be drumming in the morning, and an Equity Workshop in the afternoon, with a full lunch as well!
